The fact that President Bush commuted Lewis “Scooter” Libby’s sentence shows that there are different rules for those who are Bush’s buddies and the rest of the citizens of our country. It just proves that it’s not what you know but who you know.
Bush’s action weakens our court system by sending the message that the administration and its friends should not be held to the same standard of justice as ordinary citizens.
Why is it that famous people think they do not have to pay their debt to society when they have broken the law?
Another example is Paris Hilton.
I respect Martha Stewart because she served her time in prison.
No one is above the law.
