Transcript of Radio Interview follows:

ANCHOR LEAD:  While it’s often said “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” the editors at People Magazine have their say as well.   It’s time to celebrate beauties from the worlds of show biz, music and politics.  Brian Osuch has more.  (:57)

SCRIPT:  Lifestyles, I’m Brian Osuch.  People Magazine continues its annual tradition of anointing “The Most Beautiful People in the World” and this year’s cover girl is actress Christina Applegate.  Julie Jordan is a special correspondent for People.  Julie, why Christina Applegate?

CUT:  (Jordan) She’s obviously so beautiful and fans love her on “Samantha Who.”  But with her very public battle with breast cancer, she’s shown such strength.  She is so comfortable in her own skin.  And she truly proves that beauty is not just skin deep.

SCRIPT:  What’s new this year?

CUT:  (Jordan) We have a really fun section called “Barack’s Beauties.”  Of course we know Michelle Obama is so elegant and so beautiful, but there’s a lot of good looking people in the White House.  There’s nothing wrong with being competent and easy on the eyes.

SCRIPT:  Any surprises?

CUT:  (Jordan) There’s a lot of new faces in Hollywood.  We have an entire section “Under 21” this year.  These are faces that you’re going to see for many years to come.

SCRIPT:  The special double issue is on newsstands now.  That’s Lifestyles from People Magazine.  I’m Brian Osuch.

Class and Self-confidence

Posted by azhttp on March 17, 2008

Class is an aura of confidence that is being sure without
being cocky. Class has nothing to do with money. Class
never runs scared. It is self-discipline and
self-knowledge. It’s the sure footedness that comes with
having proved you can meet life.

Thomas Bailey Aldrich Quotes

Posted by azhttp on February 26, 2008

Thomas Bailey Aldrich (born 11th November 1836, died 19th March 1907) was a poet and novelist born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA.

All the best sands of my life are somehow getting into the wrong end of the hourglass. If I could only reverse it! Were it in my power to do so, would I?
Leaves From a Notebook, Ponkapog Papers (1903)
Somewhere—in desolate wind-swept space—
In Twilight-land—in No-man’s land—
Two hurrying Shapes met face to face,
And bade each other stand.

“And who are you?” cried one, agape,
Shuddering in the gloaming light.
“I know not,” said the second Shape,
“I only died last night.”

Rex Allen Sr. The Arizona Cowboy

Posted by quotes on October 12, 2007

Rex Allen Sr. The Arizona Cowboy

Rex Allen was inducted into the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame on September 23, 2007 in Phoenix Arizona in an induction ceremony at the Dodge Theatre.

Born Dec. 31, 1920, in Willcox, Ariz., Rex Elvie Allen was well know for his starring roles in western movies and in many Walt Diseny productions including stints as various cartoon characters and as a narrator on “The Wonderful World of Color.”

Rex Allen Sr. died in 1999 in Tucson Arizona.

The information below is from his Wikiography

Family and early life
Born Rex Elvie Allen to Horace Allen and Faye Clark on a ranch in Mud Springs Canyon, forty miles from Willcox, Arizona, Rex Allen would grow up to become a popular entertainer known as “The Arizona Cowboy.” As a boy he played guitar and sang at local functions with his fiddle-playing father until high school graduation when he toured the southwest as a rodeo rider. He got his start in show business on the East Coast as a vaudeville singer then found work in Chicago as a performer on the WLS Radio program, National Barn Dance. In 1948 he signed with Mercury Records where he recorded a number of successful country music albums until 1952 when he switched to the Decca label where he would continue making records into the 1970s. He also recorded one album for Buena Vista (Disney, pictured) in the 1960s, although sources vary on the date of issue.

When singing cowboys such as Roy Rogers and Gene Autry were very much in vogue in American film, in 1949 Republic Pictures in Hollywood gave him a screen test and put him under contract. Beginning in 1950, Allen starred as himself in nineteen of Hollywood’s western movies. One of the top-ten box office draws of the day, whose character was soon depicted in comic books, on screen Allen personified the clean cut, God-fearing American hero of the wild west who wore a white Stetson, loved his faithful horse named “Koko” and had a loyal buddy who shared his adventures. Allen’s comic relief sidekick in first few pictures was Buddy Ebsen and then character actor, Slim Pickens.
